What if you had to ask 600,000 people for permission to marry?

That would be the reality if anti-equality activists are able to force a ballot fight over gay and lesbian couples being able to marry in DC.
As I wrote in a post last week,
The National Organization for Marriage and its $6 million budget have moved into DC to ban marriage equality in the District and, as Rev. Anthony Evans said to the Washington Blade:
We are going to force an initiative on the city to allow every District resident to have a say so on this issue of gay marriage.
This ad from a marriage equality group in Ireland gives you a sense of what it would be to have to go to every single resident to get they approval to marry the person you love.
